KD Floral and Gardens

Bemidji's Wedding Florist for More Than 25 Years

Our experienced designers bring your vision for wedding floral to life. We deliver and set up at popular venues including The Loft, South Shore Center, Sanford Center, Ruttger's Birchmont Lodge, Town and Country Club, Lake Bemidji State Park, Bluebelle Event Venue, or your backyard.

For more than twenty-five years, KD Floral and Gardens has been the Bemidji wedding florist area couples trust with the biggest day of their lives. From our shop at 325 Minnesota Ave, the team at KD has designed and delivered hundreds of northern Minnesota weddings, from intimate lakeside ceremonies to full weekend celebrations at the region's most loved venues.

We are a local, independent flower shop. We work closely with the couple to ensure that every bouquet, boutonniere, centerpiece, and ceremony arrangement aligns with their vision for the wedding. We hand design in our shop, then deliver and set up on your wedding day. That means the flowers that you've dreamed of are the flowers that show up on your big day.

What we create

Bridal bouquets, bridesmaid bouquets, boutonnieres and corsages, flower crowns, ceremony arches and arbor pieces, aisle and altar arrangements, reception centerpieces, head table installations, cake flowers, and memorial tributes. If you can picture it, we can make it. If you don't know what you want, we can walk you through your options.

  • 1. Free consultation

After you complete our wedding questionnaire, we reach out to set up a consultation with you. We can meet at the shop or electronically (FaceTime or Zoom). Bring your date, venue information, colors, and inspiration photos. We talk through your ceremony and reception spaces, your personal flowers, and your budget.

  • 2. A proposal for you to consider

After our consultation, we assemble a proposal with prices for each bouquet, corsage, boutonniere, and centerpiece line by line, so you see exactly where your budget goes. We make adjustments as needed. Once we arrive at an acceptable proposal, we ask for a deposit to reserve your wedding date on our event calendar.

  • 3. Your day, handled

As your wedding day approaches, we will confirm final counts, source your flowers at peak freshness, then design, deliver, and set up at your venue before your guests arrive.

From Our Couples

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by couples on The Knot

I had no clue what my bouquet would look like until the wedding day. When I first saw it, it wasn't quite what I had originally envisioned — it was 100X better! They did an AMAZING job!

We used KD for our bouquets for 6 of us ladies, and they did a fantastic job! They were great at really learning what we wanted, and do a one-month out meeting as well to confirm details. The bouquets we ended up with were creative, beautiful, and lasted all day!
Kim B.via The Knot
We had simple, elegant white on white arrangements for the dinner tables, and an absolutely stunning runner of flowers on our 17 foot head table. I am still in love with the photos! My highest recommendation for any bride in Northern Minnesota.

KD Florals did an amazing job with our wedding flowers! They created the bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages. Layna was an absolute dream to work with; she took the time to understand the vibe and mood I was going for.

KD Floral & Gardens made my bouquets and boutonnières for my wedding. They were very organized and easy to work with. They met with me to make sure every detail was perfect leading up to the wedding. Even though it was December they put together beautiful bouquets.

Wedding Flower Questions

What is the average cost of wedding flowers?

Nationally, couples typically spend around 8 to 10 percent of their total wedding budget on flowers. At KD Floral, most Bemidji-area weddings land between $1,000 and $3,500 depending on the size of the wedding party, guest count, and how much of the ceremony and reception is flowered. We build every proposal line by line so you can see exactly where your budget goes.

When should I book my wedding florist?

Most couples book 6 to 12 months before the wedding date. Peak summer and early fall weekends in the Bemidji area fill quickly, so reach out as soon as you have your date and venue. If your date is closer than that, ask anyway. We can often accommodate shorter timelines.

Who pays for wedding flowers?

Traditionally, the bride's family covered ceremony and reception flowers while the groom's family covered personal flowers like the bouquet and boutonnieres. Today, most couples simply fold flowers into their overall wedding budget and split costs however works for them.

Do you deliver and set up at the venue?

Yes. Delivery and setup for your ceremony and reception sites can be included in the proposal. Cost depends on the setup. We coordinate timing directly with your venue so the flowers are fresh, placed, and ready to be photographed before your guests arrive.
